Delta Camp Activities & Things to Do

Mokoro Trail Camping Experience
For guests staying four nights or more at Delta Camp, the Mokoro Trail Camping Experience is one of the most exclusive and sought‑after wilderness adventures in the Okavango Delta. These privately guided overnight camping trails, undertaken by mokoro or on foot for a minimum of two nights, take you deep into remote floodplains and islands far beyond the usual lodge routine. Travelling with your guide by traditional dug‑out canoe, you drift through crystal‑clear channels in complete peace and eco‑friendly silence. Your guide chooses a secluded island and establishes a low‑impact wilderness camp with dome tents, comfortable bedrolls, linen, towels and simple bush facilities, while a dedicated trail chef prepares fresh meals over open coals. Mokoro Trails are water‑level dependent—typically best between July and September—and follow strict sustainable principles, with everything packed in and out, ensuring a pristine, environmentally responsible Okavango Delta safari.

Okavango Delta Camp

Wildlife on Foot
Embark on an Okavango Delta walking safari with your private guide and explore Botswana’s wilderness on foot. From Delta Camp’s base in the remote Xaxaba Concession (NG 27B), you set out to discover tracks, subtle signs, hidden animals and the small details that vehicles overlook—from insects and birdlife to ancient trees and animal pathways. Walking safaris in this concession are conducted by highly experienced, professionally trained guides who understand animal behaviour, terrain and safety in depth. In accordance with local regulations and the wilderness character of the area, walks are conducted without armed escorts; guests choosing to walk do so with this in mind, under careful guidance and with a strong focus on safe, responsible and eco‑friendly exploration.
