Privacy Policy

Last Updated: 30th September 2026

This policy explains how Betty's Travel Agency T/A Lelobu Safaris, Plot 303, Boseja, Maun, Botswana ("we", "us"), collects and uses your personal information when you use okavangodeltacamps.com, send us an enquiry or book a safari. We handle personal information in line with Botswana's Data Protection Act, 2024. Our cookie banner is provided by Wix's consent tool and shows standard categories. We currently use only essential cookies and Wix Analytics — we don't use advertising or marketing cookies.

What we collect

When you enquire: your name, email address, phone number, travel dates, number of nights and anything you write in your message.
When you book: the details needed to arrange your safari. That means full names as they appear in passports, dates of birth, nationality and passport details, flight details, and your insurance details. It also covers any dietary, medical or mobility information you choose to share so camps can look after you.
When you browse our website: basic usage information collected by Wix Analytics, such as pages visited, device and browser type, approximate location and how you arrived at the site. This is collected using cookies.

We don't collect payment card details on this website.

How we use it

To reply to your enquiry and prepare quotes.
To book and manage your safari, including accommodation, flights, transfers and activities.
To contact you about your booking before, during and after your trip.
To meet legal, accounting and tax obligations.
To understand how visitors use our website so we can improve it.

We only contact you about your enquiry or booking. We don't send marketing newsletters, and we never sell or rent your personal information.

Who we share it with

We share only what's needed, with:

Safari suppliers: the camps, lodges, air charter companies and transfer operators providing your trip. They need names, ages, flight details and any dietary or medical needs.
Our Cape Town office: Lelobu Safaris in Cape Town, South Africa, which may help manage your booking.
Wix.com: our website host, which stores enquiry form submissions and analytics data.
Authorities: where the law requires it, such as immigration or park authorities.

Transfers outside Botswana

Some of these parties are outside Botswana. Wix stores data on servers abroad, our Cape Town office is in South Africa, and some suppliers may be in neighbouring countries. We only share information needed for your trip, and with parties we expect to protect it.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry details for 2 years if you don't book. We keep booking records for 7 years to meet accounting and legal requirements. After that, we delete them securely.

Keeping it safe

Access to your information is limited to the staff handling your enquiry or booking. We use secure, password-protected systems. No system is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.

Your rights

You can ask us to:

tell you what personal information we hold about you and give you a copy
correct information that's wrong
delete your information, where we don't need to keep it for legal reasons
stop using your information for a particular purpose

Email anton@botswanabudgetsafaris.com and we'll reply within 30 days. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, you can complain to the Information and Data Protection Commission of Botswana.

Cookies

Our website uses cookies to make it work and, through Wix Analytics, to understand how visitors use it. You can accept or decline analytics cookies in the cookie banner, and you can delete cookies at any time in your browser settings.

Children

We collect children's details only when a parent or guardian provides them to book a family safari.
